Alexis Bellino, a core cast member of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” issued a statement today saying she’s leaving the Bravo reality TV series.
Bellino, 35, told People.com on Monday that she won’t be a part of season 8. She verified the info on her official Facebook page. Season 7 concluded in June, or July if you count the two reunion episodes.
“After three seasons of appearing on ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County,’ I have made the difficult decision not to return for season 8,” she said in her statement. “Although Bravo made me a very generous offer and I’m thankful to have had this experience, I will be leaving the show behind to focus on my family and other opportunities.”
During her three seasons on the show, Bellino started a clothing line called Alexis Couture, and was the victim of a Housewives bully session, or “intervention” designed to let her know how pretentious she was.
Bellino could not be reached Monday for comment. A Bravo spokeswoman said the cable network has no comment about Bellino’s departure.
“I am so grateful to have gone through this amazing journey and to have met so many incredible fans,” she said in her statement to People.com. “My heart is at peace and I remain so excited for my future.”
While Bravo has not made an official statement regarding season 8, it is expected to premiere next year.
